6 Quotes To Make You Feel Better On Bad Days

Positive mind equals positive life, right? Well, that’s what all the inspirational Instagram posts say. So I thought I would share with you some of the positive quotes that have got me through some of the worst days.

I share this with you because no matter what you’re going through, it’s important to think of others who may need what you’re using to get through the day

1. “If you woke up tomorrow with only the things you gave thanks for today, what would you wake up with?”

This is something I recently heard on @_yasminelizabeth ‘s Instagram story, and it really stuck with me.  Imagine, the awful day you’re having, if you think about all of the things you have even on this bad day, that you would hate to wake up without tomorrow, all of a sudden you have a lot to be grateful for. The bed you sleep on, the roof above your head, the food in your cupboards, the friend that checks in on you, all of your friends, all of your family, the money in your account no matter how low your account balance. Imagine waking up without any of those things and all of a sudden, your life could be a lot worse and you have SO much to be grateful for. Perspective!

2. “Some of the best days of your life are yet to happen”

What an amazing thought that is. That no matter how bad life is right now, in a years time, in 5 years time, in 10 years time, you could be happier than you have ever been before this point. It doesn’t change how you feel right now, but it gives you hope. It made me wonder, what could happen in the future? I have no idea but I can guarantee there are better days to come. Because life is a rollercoaster, I’ve been low before and since that low period, I have had amazing days/weeks/years.. so be excited for that to happen again.

3. “Grow through what you go through”

The reason I like this, is because it is basically the whole “you learn from your mistakes” or “if it’s not a blessing it’s a lesson” but better. Because those quotes insinuate that you’ve done something wrong, or that you need teaching a lesson. Yet most of the tough times we go through, just happen. We don’t deserve them and I’m sure most of us would agree we’d rather not take that lesson. However, number 3 tells us that you know what, you’re going through something, it’s not necessarily your fault or fair, but you will grow from this. Which is a lovely thought. It tells you that you’re going to be a better person for it, you’re not going to learn a lesson, it’s going to enhance you. It’s important to recognise that every challenge changes us. Also it implies that you’re going through it, you will come out the other end, it will pass (coming soon as point 5).

4. “If you’re going through it, just know it’s called “going THROUGH it”, you’re not going to get stuck there, you’re gonna survive”

This one is taken from Beyoncé’s “Ring off” when her mum Tina Knowles gives this advice at the end of the song. It’s another one that sticks with me because similar to 2 & 3, this is temporary, you’re going to come out the other end. The things you’re going though may be awful, but the feeling will pass. You’re not going to get stuck there. You’re going to survive. You will find a way. And we do, because when we’re at rock bottom the only way is up.

5. “This too shall pass”

Here, the use of “too” understands that you’ve been down and out before. And you came out the other end. You’ve got through life events before, you’ve overcome obstacles before, you’ve felt this way before. And it will pass, just like all those problems and feelings you’ve had before.

I hope this brings a ray of sunshine on a rainy day.

Disclaimer: You will have some bad days that no positive quotes will get you through, that’s okay. You’ll still get through them.
